Here are some examples of before and after....they tell so much more.

The client wanted a new entertainment room for theater and entertaining.  The use of ledge stone gave the basement a solid base for the house.

The long wall was replaced with double storage cabinets and low benches to give the room some continuity.

Before the floor was put in, the client and I decided to do away with the hearth in the floor since it would have been cosmetic only.  This gave the whole room a much more contemporary feeling.  The wood casing on the top and sides warms up the contemporary sleek stone

The client dining room before.  They wanted to keep the mirrors to expand the room but the new rich colors and window coverings accentuate the table and the new chairs give it an openness and feeling of stability.

Although the before picture is of a different part of the room, you can see that the darker columns playing off the buildings outside the windows creates an atmosphere of warmth and openness.  The darker floor also adds to the expansive feeling and a quality of richness.
